I
am from Hobart in Tasmania (Australia), and I arrived
in Guilin at the end of August 2004. Working as a volunteer
with CHT is a wonderful experience, which I highly recommend. How
did it happen?I was researching a planned trip to China
when I saw the opportunity to volunteer on the Chinahighlights
website. This offered a chance to become part of a community,
as well as the opportunity to contribute some of my own
expertise. |
My
own background over the past few years has been in project
management, involved in major corporate projects including
some years as a senior project manager. However, my original
training includes a BA in philosophy and literature, and
a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA).I
have a broad range of experience ranging from editing
and public relations to hop-growing and long distance
sailing (during my long distant youth!).
I have always been a keen traveler, and I believe passionately
in the value of international exchange and understanding.
Spending three months here as a volunteer, in a pleasant
apartment and a beautiful city I realise that I am probably
getting back far more than I am giving. |

My
name is Oliver Nitsche and I also study Tourism Management
at the International University of Applied Science in
Bad Honnef, Bonn.
I decided to do my internship in China because of the
significant future role of Chinese travelers in the world.
Therefore CITS was the perfect company to choose to work
for because here I can learn more about the Chinese travel
preferences and practice my theoretical knowledge
which I gained at university. |
My scope of duties at CITS includes updating the German part of the Homepage, planning and organizing of trips as well as taking care of customer issues. |

My name is Till Weigl and I study Tourism Management at the International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef-Bonn. I chose to come to China for one of my internships because I am fascinated by its people and culture. Thus, combining gathering practical expertise in the field of Tour operations and enjoying the colorful life in one of Chinas most beautiful cities, I believe my time here in Guilin will be a highly valuable |
experience. Other cross-cultural experiences led me to a high school year, as well as a 3 months internship in the US. Traveling is my passion. I love meeting new people and learning as much as possible about other cultures. My travels have led me to many overwhelming destinations in Europe, North and Central America, as well as Africa, Asia, and Australia. Here at CITS I am working for the Sales and Marketing Department for the German webpage. My field of duties include customer service, as well as organization and page maintenance. I feel honored to do my best to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. |
